Organisational unit: Research Grouping
The Centre for Surgical Research aims to increase evidence based surgery. It is a multi-disciplinary collaboration designed to tackle key questions relevant to patients, surgeons and the NHS, and, to create a new generation of surgeons who understand and participate in evidence based practice.
Led by Professor Jane Blazeby, Professor of Surgery at the University of Bristol and Honorary Consultant Surgeon at University Hospitals Bristol NHS Foundation Trust, it is one of the Royal College of Surgeons of England Surgical Trials Centres.
The Centre works in close collaboration with the two UKCRN registered clinical trials units; the Clinical Trials and Evaluation Unit and the Bristol Randomised Trials Collaboration. It is closely linked to the Musculoskeletal Research Unit and the MRC ConDuCT-II (Collaboration and Innovation in Difficult Randomised Controlled Trials in Invasive Interventions) Hub."
