Organisational unit: Research Grouping
From corpus linguistics and geospatial data to digital publishing and cultures, researchers are using digital sources, theories and techniques right across Bristol's Arts Faculty. Building upon recent appointments in the Digital Humanities, this cluster connects those working on digital cultures with experienced and potential users of digital methods.
The cluster’s activities enable researchers to extend their digital capabilities, keep up with developments, and share interests across disciplinary boundaries. Regular networking events allow researchers to informally run ideas past those with technical knowledge or prior experience and provide a forum where we can ask the ‘is this possible’ question. Having identified common interests and needs, the cluster organises workshops on particular digital tools – such as GIS, text mark-up or corpus linguistics – and invites high-profile researchers and practitioners to talk about their work on digital cultures.
