Research interests

My research focuses on statistical methodology for evidence synthesis particularly on network meta-analysis (mixed treatment comparisons), consistency checking, and bias modeling. I am Director and Senior Lead of the UK National Institute for Health and Clinical Excellence (NICE) Clinical Guidelines Technical Support Unit based in Bristol, which provides rapid response consultancy on complex synthesis methodology issues that arise in the development of clinical guidelines.

I have a special interest in meta-analysis of multiple, related outcomes and hold an MRC grant to develop models to better account for the relationships in outcomes.

You can read about the Impact of research carried out in the MPES group here.
