Abstract

Data transmission in the mobile environment is particularly susceptible to the distortion introduced by the propagating channel. The authors concentrated on 16APSK, which utilises two concentric 8-PSK rings to greatly simplify the process of differential reception. Both differentially encoded and differentially demodulated 16APSK are examined (16DEAPSK and 16DAPSK respectively) together with methods to combat random FM
