Research interests

I am an epidemiologist focusing on the use of causal methods to investigate the causes and consequences of lifestyle behaviours such as smoking and caffeine consumption. I run the consortium for Causal Analysis Research in Tobacco and Alcohol (CARTA), which uses Mendelian randomisation methods to explore the causal effects of smoking. I am a member of the MRC Integrative Epidemiology Unit.
