Research interests

Beginning my PhD at Bristol in September 2015, my research looks at the transition between a colonial and globalising world in the late twentieth century. The British expatriate community in Hong Kong, between 1982 and 2012, is used as a case study to track the impact of a transfer of power on a privileged group.

My wider interests include: post-colonialism, transnationalism, globalisation, and migration.

In addition to my research, I am the intern for the Bristol Institute for Research in Humanities and the Arts (BIRTHA) 2016/17, and the co-organiser of the History PGR group seminars.
