Research interests

My main interests are in life-course epidemiology and longitudinal data analysis, multilevel/hierarchical modeling, evidence synthesis and causal methods and their application in RCT trial methodology.   Areas of my applied work include joint modeling of growth and binary and/or survival data in the context of cohort studies in child development in psychiatric epidemiology, cardiovascular disease and nutrition from other countries such as Finland, Greece and the UK (ALSPAC) and education research funded by the ESRC, MRC and the Welcome Trust.  I am currently providing statistical support within the NIHR funded programme grant for “identifying indications for Prescribing AntiDepressAnts that will lead to clinical benefit  (PANDA)”  focusing on developing and implementing methods for mapping treatment effects measured by multiple instruments for assessment of depressive symptoms for synthesing evidence to inform trial designs. I am currently involved in identifying how causal methods can be used to maximize value from RCTs funded by the MRC Population Health Sciences Research Network.
