Research interests

I am a Health Psychologist with an interest in developing and evaluating interventions and health-related behaviour change.

I set up the Health Psychology and Interventions Group (HPIG) in the School of Social and Community Medicine (together with Drs Clare Thomas and Katie Whale). The group draws together Health Psychology and related expertise across the school.

I am working with Professor Esther Crawley to run the FITNET-NHS Trial which evaluates an online cognitive behavioural therapy (CBT) programme for children with chronic fatigue.

I am also working with Professor Alastair Hay to run the EEPRIS Study, a feasibility study tracking respiratory infections in Bristol children. Together with nested parent and clinician qualitative interview studies, EEPRIS forms a major step towards developing an online intervention which aims to improve the efficiency of primary care consultations and reduce antibiotic prescribing.
