Research interests

My research interests are in twentieth-century British history with a particular focus on post-war class and gender relations. My PhD thesis explored the history of single mothers in the post-war period using life history interviews as well as contemporary sociological surveys and fiction by writers such as Margaret Drabble, Nell Dunn and Buchi Emecheta.
